We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to our parents in class 5 for all your time and effort with the children’s home learning projects. We had some very creative pumpkin entries for our competition and we are so impressed with the space rockets the children have made at home. Your support really does make a difference to your children and their learning, so again THANK YOU!

Below we have a few examples of the brilliant work we have received from home.

Class 8's FANTASTIC work on Black History Curriculum Week.

Date: 27th Oct 2020 @ 8:45am

During curriculum week the whole school looked at the Black History. Class 8 had studied Rosa Parks, who in 1955 travelling home on a bus, refused to stand up from her seat for a white person. This was against the law at the time and Rosa Parks was jailed and fined, however this one person’s stand ended up changing the law. We also studied Martin Luther King, who helped Rosa Parks among many to stand up for equal rights. The children took part in a variety of activities like acting out famous scenes, researching all about the life of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, writing fact files, drawing portraits and they carried out debates about equal rights where they raised questions and discussed them.

We learnt lots of new super facts and wrote some brilliant sentences to describe her using lots of different adjectives. We were so impressed with all of the things that the children remembered. We can't wait to start our new topic next half term , learning all about another nurse - Florence Nightingale.
