w/c 20.01.25 This week in Year 2

Welcome to another exciting week in Year 2! We’ve had a fantastic week full of activities across all subjects. Here’s a little sneak peek into what we’ve been learning and exploring:

English: The Jungle Book (alternative ending) 

This week in English, we’ve been reading The Jungle Book. The children have enjoyed acting out the story and discovering more about the characters.

Maths: Subtraction Fun!

In Maths, we’ve been diving into subtraction. The children practiced solving calculations using the semi-formal method. 

Topic: India

This week in Topic, we learned about the continents and which continent India is in. The children loved looking at the atlas' and maps and finding out more about the world. 

Science: Materials. 

In Science, we focused on suitability of materials. We had some great discussions about whether a fork or cotton woll would be best to eat with and why.
