This Week In Reception (WB 03.02.25)

Date: 6th Feb 2025 @ 10:57am

This week in Reception, we embarked on a fascinating journey around the world! Our non-fiction book, Homes Around the World, introduced us to all sorts of exciting houses, from tree houses high up in the branches to icy igloos built from snow. The children were amazed by how different homes can be and used their creativity to imagine and draw their dream homes. Using their Little Wandle phonics knowledge, they also wrote a sentence about their dream home, showcasing their growing writing skills.

In Maths, we had hands-on fun with practical addition. Using classroom items like rubber dinosaurs and buttons, the children added different amounts together and then wrote their own number sentences. It was wonderful to see them use real objects to make sense of numbers!

In RE, we reflected on the places that are special to us. The children shared stories about the places they love and why they are important, helping them connect their own experiences to the world around them.

It’s been a week filled with learning, creativity, and fun—what a fantastic start to February!
